Aristotle once said "The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."
I'd say these are wise words from a wise man. In a way this saying represents my comprehension of art quite well.

Not always I am able to capture great moments with the nikon. Sometimes my phone has to play along for my shots. Obviously the quality is often less than adequate but the thing I'm actually trying to say is that most of the time it does not depend how the piece of art looks like ... actually - and that is my opinion - it rather depends on what the artist wants to express with this particular work of art. And I guess that is what this saying is about - so I think it fits quite well.

Most of the time when I'm looking for new art on DA I try not to pay attention on the aesthetics but rather on the concept and meaning of it!

And that is what I actually want the other artists here on DA to see in my work! - To go deeper and try to see what the artist wants to convey to the observer...

Agreed :)

But don't forget that the form of the image is also transporting the message. For example if you take a photo of a soft feather and you edit it far too much (too much contrast for example) the whole meaning of the image is changing immediately. A soft contrast may have a soft message in this example. It could show beauty rather than the over-contrasted image that may show hate of soft things or something else (negative).

It's nice that you make some thoughts on art itself, reflexion is the key to good images, I think. :)
